I've spent a good part of my working life halfway out of a second-floor window on a Worcester triple-decker, holding a level. Windows are all we do, here in the city and out to Shrewsbury, Holden, Auburn, Millbury, Grafton and West Boylston.

You know the window I mean. Painted shut for decades, one sash cord snapped, a storm window doing all the heavy lifting. What goes back in tilts in for cleaning and lifts with two fingers, and I have watched more than one homeowner open theirs three times in a row just because they could.
The smallest job I'll take is a small bathroom window. The largest is commercial buildings done floor by floor, and in between it's double-hungs, casements, sliders, bays and picture windows in vinyl or fiberglass, with the trim and capping to match.
I'm not the cheapest quote you'll get, and that's on purpose.
When a sill is soft, we open the wall back to sound framing and rebuild it instead of pocketing a shiny new window over rot. Every opening gets flashed, foamed with low-expansion foam and capped outside. That's hours, and hours are what other bids cut.
If someone wants it dropped straight in over punky wood, I'll politely pass. That window looks great in April and stains your ceiling by February.
